I did create a recovery USB drive from the update and security portion of settings in windows 10.

What would be the recommendation to do next if I would love to save my files if possible. Is my next step to force a shutdown again? I am wanting to know all the angles here before proceeding. So if cancel won't hurt it and if it doesn't stop it. 14 hours to not even have the initial list. I would appreciate insight as to if I cancel the process will it mess things up more? It's still in the scanning 1st phase to create a list of files to backup. I'm attempting to be patient, but I have a feeling that the File Backup is not going to continue. It's been 14 hours and it has been stuck at 10% on the same file for at least an hour.

The program progress window clearly states this process may take several minutes. I selected File Backup first just in case. So I wanted to see if the Recovery Manager had any options to fix the issue. I attempted system restore about 3 xs and it would not complete.

My laptop began to freeze within 30 minutes of a startup to where I kept having to force ata shutdown with the power button since I couldn't open anything, even keyboard shortcuts, like for the task manager would do absolutely nothing.
